David vs. Saul

Our Oasis Kids have been running from King Saul, following David as he escapes from city to city, forest to forest. There are so many valuable lessons for our kids in these stories. Learning how to be a friend such as David and Jonathan, learning to trust God and believe He is who He says He is, and will do what He says He will do. Learning the Fear of the Lord which is to love what He loves and hate what He hates.

Saul truly is a prime example of someone who does not fear the Lord. Saul, fears people more than he fears God. What a snare to him and his life this has been. Fear of people has now opened the door for pride, selfishness and jealousy to be Saul's character.

The greatest lesson is learning about the Love of God. To love our enemies with the God kind of love. Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:43-48 "To love our enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you." 'That you may be sons of your Father in heaven."
