God's Great 3 Promises

In Camp Abraham curriculum - lesson 5 we have watched Abram grow in his trust and relationship with Almighty God. God tells him in Genesis 15:1: "Do not be afraid Abram, I Am your shield, your exceedingly great reward."

Many times we think of the shield only pertaining to the Armor of God, the Shield of Faith, here the Lord is saying "I Am your shield." The Creator of heaven and earth, the Almighty God, the Great I AM, the Alpha and Omega, is Abram's shield and exceedingly great reward. This promise is for us also, in Galatians 3:13-14, when we receive the free gift of the sacrifice of Christ on the cross. "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."

We read God is our shield and exceedingly great reward, and we want to believe them and know that this is for us also, and they are. We need to believe them as confidently as Abram did. Yet, we believe more in the world than in God's Word. Why? Because unfortunately the church is not willing to pay the price that Abram paid. Listening, following, obeying, and waiting. And because of our impatience, our not following exactly what God tells us, doing it our way instead of His way, God's way not our opinion, thinking this is now that was then, we don't have to obey, follow, listen, and wait,  because of our lack of obedience and steadfastness, our children may never see the mighty God of the Bible or even Azusa Street Revival.

We don't see the greatness and experience the winning, the church is experiencing more defeat than victory. Could it be we aren't willing to pay the price. Abram left his family and ventured out to a place he didn't know. He didn't know where God was leading, but he was willing to pay the price of leaving and follow God.

I pray that we will be willing to pay the cost so our kids can get a revelation of how Big Their God IS. But it does cost us something. It  will cost us getting up and going to church every Sunday no matter what event is happening or how we feel. It is staying at a church and getting involved and serving in the church somewhere, not getting offended and leaving, or just leaving and not checking with God before you move. It is paying your tithes and offering consistently, it is prayer, and reading your Bible daily. It is putting the Name of Jesus on your lips and praying over your family everytime they leave the house. It is praying about decisions before you make them, getting God's opinion on the matter, not what you think God wants. IT IS PUTTING GOD FIRST IN EVERYTHING!

Abram paid the cost, we read about a man and a woman who pay the price, become a family, and then become the Father of Our Faith. All because he was willing to believe, follow, obey, and wait.  He did mess up, because they got impatient and wanted it now and in what they thought could make the promise happen. God, in His love and mercy because Abram, had faith and confidence even though he and Sarah got alittle shakey his heart was still confident in God - and it was "imputed onto him as righteousness."

Abram was considered righteous before Jesus was even born. We needed Jesus to become righteous.  Don't be afraid God says. Trust Me, obey Me, follow Me, I will not disappoint you. You may have to wait and keep your faith while you wait, God says, it will be worth the wait, I Am more than able and willing to fulfill My Word.

God is your shield if you have received His gift of Jesus, and have exchanged your life for His.

God brought Abram outside and said, "Look now toward heaven and count the stars if you are able to number them." and He said to Abram, "So shall your descendents be." What do you need to put your eyes on to maintain the faith and confidence God will bring the promise?

For me, I have been waiting for God to bring about the promise. It has been 2 years now, and I was becoming weary, I didn't really think I had, but I had. I was fasting and praying and just asking God, is it coming? Then one morning during my prayer time after I prayer and crying out to God, God gave me a song that says, "That's When He steps in." "He sees you at the point of your need, the moment you call, when you give your all He steps in, He steps in." "He'll say, "what's that you have in your hand, I can use it, if you're willing to lose it. Take the little you have and make it grand, I Am El Shaddai and I will more than supply your need." I listen to this song over and over, I am in the waiting period of my promise, waiting and it is in this time that it looks like nothing is happening. I listen to this song to keep my mind from telling me nothings happening, and I try to figure something out. No, that will not make it happen sooner, actually it will hinder the harvest.

I wait and pray and sing, and declare my scriptures of promise and wait and pray, sing and declare my scriptures, wait and pray, sing and declare my scriptures. I am still waiting, but I know that there will be a blog of the harvest of my promises that I am waiting on God for. I do my part and He will definately do His part. Soon I will be writing declaring the greatest victory and harvest that I could ever imagine.

Here's to the waiting! Glory to God.

He is El Shaddai and He will more than supply my need!
